I am thinking to shut this down

Ya.. I've been maintaining more than one blog. I've 3 other blogs!! Yes, 3 others. But only one other that is active. Sort of. By active means whenever I feel like writing or whenever there is an assignment for me to do.
As for the other two blogs, they were started in hope that I can get more assignment, but well.. not much. It was like one in few months sort of frequency. I think I can shut 3 blogs off, including this one and just maintain one - Glad To Be Here.
I don't think I've anything to loose except my readers which is not that many anyway. I still treasure all of you who read and follow my blog. I hope you'll follow me to my other blog where everything will be in one place. Craft is me, Glad is also me.
If there is no respond here, I know I'm making the right decision. But do drop me a line or so, so that I know if you all really are reading my blog. Or my twitter - Hannie C
I'm going to do a lot of editing stuff after this, if I'm really going to shut this down. I also need to inform those sites that I've been working with, about my "migration".
I just felt that it is hard for me to maintain that many blogs and yet there are only two that is functioning and this one can really join with Glad To Be Here. Don't you think so?

Another thing that I really wanted to do is "A photo a day" project which I've already started shooting photo using my phone. Yay to that!

My December Daily for 2011 [photo heavy post]

I was actually hopping to build a mini album, but don't think I'm going to do that next year. I'm definitely going to use a bigger album next year, at least 8x8".
It turns out that it became bulkier each day and I was trying hard to squeeze things in this album. So happy that I've mini diary in my phone that I can write down the happenings of the day together with the photos. Another great thing is, I can edit my photos in the phone, have them in collage and only then sent them to process. That is one great way that I can put several photos in one page of this mini album.
I've actually run out of 6x6" chipboard from the initial album size. So I've added up with large coaster and another tag mini album.
Here are the inside, with a few photos missing. Too lazy to shoot them again.

Am I going to do December Daily again next year?
Definitely YES!!

Now.. everyone is talking about new year resolution, the one little word, or the most like in 2011, or the achievement of 2011. I'm not going to go through all that now. But I think my one little word for next year is "BE". Let's just be.

I brought my angel home today

Using Creative Scrappers sketch #188.
I bought some angels on the 17th December, and have them placed on my entrance tables. So love the spirit or feel that they've created in my home and my heart.
Going to definitely believe more on angels and ask for their help in the coming year.
I so love the December kit from My Creative Scrapbook. That's is what I've used for this layout.

I've finally took some photos of my December Daily, though it is not 100% done yet. Going to share about that in my next post.

Happy Boxing day! I've missed posting during Christmas. But I've been updating friends and family by twitter and Facebook. Here are some photos that I've shared in the social network:

Christmas greetings.

Our Christmas eve dinner in my sister's place where we've cooked up some roasted chicken wings and potatoes.

Lighting up of candles in the church during the Christmas eve service.

One activity that the boys have been waiting for - opening of gifts. Here.. all those pictures showed that Calvin is so love the Chinese comic book that I got for them, till he started reading right away.

So, how was your Christmas? All those cleaning has been done? Today is boxing day.. I wonder what am I going to box away. Definitely those old newspapers, really need to get rid of them from the house.

December daily

It is already half way through December and I've just started to put together my December Daily.
I may need more chipboard pages for my album.
I also wanted to make those pages look like they have got a theme.
Doily is one thing that I'm sure to be using.
I wanted to try using glitter too.
I've recently bought a bottle of Mod Podge and now I'm using it like crazy. I almost use it on all my pages which I've put doily in!
I wanted to try glitter too.
Will take some photos when I've the right light for it.

Scrap-it-lah December Challenge

This will be the last challenge over at Scrap-it-lah. Sadly Chow-Chow (who started the blog with Jessy) would have to give this up for her other commitment in life. So, I guess this will also be my last layout for SIL.

This month, the challenge is: to include Multi-photo layout using Christmas photos (at least 3) or, if you don’t celebrate Christmas, photos from a similar celebration (no birthdays please!). Glitter or glimmer mist somewhere on your layout. Traditional Christmas colours of red/green/gold (compulsory), plus only ONE other colour OF YOUR CHOICE. (Both plain and printed papers are fine as long as you stick to the colours).

I've used glimmer mist on my doily and flower then also using glimmer pen to draw on the larger flower. Initial color of the flower is white.

My title is from glitter thicker. I've also stamp on my doily after misting them.

Here is another look on those cluster of flowers from Prima.

This year, we had our Christmas tree up early even before November ended.. This is all due to my son - Calvin who was so eager to put up the Christmas tree. So I've helped him to set up the tree and he hangs all t hose decoration all by himself! What a great kid. He is waiting for the time to open his presents and really a good test on his patient.

Started to make Christmas cards

I know some of you have already made your Christmas cards and probably started to send them out by now.
I've just made mine and probably will make some more. These are the few patterns that I've in my production.
I've got a new Martha Stewart snowflake punch from Kuala Lumpur. Seen here are two different snowflakes, one is from MM Slice machine, and the other smaller one is from Martha Stewart.

I wanted to make if more meaningful, so I've used Ali Edwards stamp at the back of the card. Love the result.
Next thing is the December Daily's album, which I haven't started making yet.

To Earth With Love album

I've got news from Japan. The album that I did for "To Earth With Love" committee has been presented to Professor Dr. Teruo Higa - the researcher and owner of EM product. Professor Dr. Higa is an agricultural scientist. I'm glad that the committee member approached me to do a scrapbook for their project and successfully presented to the professor himself.

To Earth With Love has been doing lots of project in making Mud Ball using the EM solution and rice rinsed water. The mud ball itself can help in cleaning up drain or dirty water. There have been much activities done by the committee during the course of this year, I've written about one of the event here. Another news coverage about mud ball is here.

The EM itself can be used as fertilizer. EM means Effective Micro-organism. With the right mixture, it gave new life to crops.

I hope our government will fully support To Earth With Love in using EM to produce better agricultural product, house hold used detergent since it is environmental friendly and even help out in creating a greener environment.

Bottle Sling = Hands free feeding

Got his cute Bottle sling last week and only manage to get a feedback yesterday.

First look of it, it seems a bit short compare to what they are showing in their website - BottleSlings.com
The design is original and the pattern on the cloth is cute. That's all I can say about it on first glance.

Well, since I don't have little baby and my boys hold their bottle without any problem, I gave it to my colleague who is having a 6-month-old baby boy.
At first, my colleague couldn't think of where to wrap the sling till I told her about car seat. She probably didn't read the leaflet instructions.
So, once she tried it, she was so thankful for it. Her husband goes "Shiok juga nih, tak payah pegang." It means, how nice no need to hold the bottle.
My colleague even said that her baby love the sling, 'cos right after feeding, he started touching the sling, he must have love the flog pattern.

How cute right? The good thing about this baby sling is that, the baby can push away the bottle at any time and it won't chock the baby. What more it can fit in most bottles from small till big, plus it is washable.
This was started by a mom who had been travelling in long distance with her baby and there are lots of time that she find it hard to feed baby while driving, so the bottle sling came along and it solves her problem. Something new and something old

Once this one is out, my colleague grabbed it and proudly brought to her meeting saying that it will be the trend in the office, ha! So happy to hear that.

See that little ribbon with apple figure sticking out? That is from Kaison, it is just so cute that I had to use it in my bag, just for fun. This materials is actually design from Elyza's protected by Texgard (whatever that is) and stain repellent. I hope it serves what it has claimed. And yes I bought it from a curtain shop. I love shopping in curtain shop now since they have better materials and most imported.

As for this embroider bag, I did it using embroidery thread, fine ribbon and some beads. First time ever to make this. Am planning to make small bags with simple embroidery.

Intense Debate

Well, I've just added Intense Debate into my comments area, hopefully it is working well. And in order for me to know that, please do leave me a message here.
O, about my bag sewing project, well.. it is still on going and I'm doing more small bags than bigger ones, 'cos they are fast to put together and I'm loving that my friends totally love them! Those small bags have been useful for them, I'm so glad!
And onto my scrapbook projects, I still haven't got our Singapore and KL trip into an album. I do have them developed in the photo shop, now just fresh and waiting for me to put them together.
I'm still a bit sad now that I've lost my mobile phone. Not that it is lost, it is just broken by being thrown onto the floor, don't want to mention about it here. I just hope I'll be able to get a new one pretty soon and this time I hope it is a smart phone that allows me to get online whenever and wherever.

Getting nuttier..

Gosh! I've been too into bag making that I've neglected my scrapbook! I still haven't scrap those pictures that we took during the trip to Singapore in August! And now is already October. End of October that's it.
OMG!! Where did my mind goes?! To those bags definitely.
Now I'm looking at embroidery bags, they look so nice, so original and one thing about handmade is, you'll never get two bags exactly the same in the world! Yes, it is totally unique. That's why handmade worth more than mass produces bags. What more handmade always made out of love. There is always some personal touch in the bag and stories for each bag. I love that.
I'm not going to stop scrapbooking, but I wanted also to make things that I can use and others also can get them for themselves.
Let me find the balance in between. I just hope that this new craft thing won't die off once I run out of fabric.

Bags, bags and more bags

First I am crazy about scrapbooking, then a bit of card making and now I'm crazy over making bags! All sort and any sort, but of course only those pattern that I love.
I wanted to refine my skill in sewing using machine, by hands and now even am thinking of doing embroidery with my bare hands.

Here are two that I've made today:

Yup, just got those materials on Friday and hardly can wait to use them actually. What more there are new books on bag making that came in! So I get to try out new pattern and new ways in sewing up bags. Great!

I've even made a pouch for my camera, ha! One that I should have made first thing.

I wanted to make more new patterns but for now there are 2 more bags that waiting in line for me to finish up upon request. I'm waiting for my magnetic snap from an Etsy shop, hoping to see them first thing on Monday if they do come through the mail then.

Thank you cards for charity

Here are some of the patterns that I did as thank you card for those who has donated to a charity drive that my colleague did. They've visited a local orphanage, brought food, joy and laughter, all thanks to those who gave willingly and generously. There are 110 thank you cards needed!

I have used the simplest design for those cards, below are some more with different pattern papers.

I hope those who are getting these thank you card are truly felt appreciated.

SIL October Challenge

Fussy-cutting.

Here is my take on this challenge:

I'm using September kit from My Creative Scrapbook. Have cut out the flower from one of the pattern paper and sew on the side of the photo. I'm so glad that this kit has given me all the things that I needed for this challenge.
I've been lacking behind on scrapbook layout. I'm been busy making bags! Will share more about this in other post.

As usual SIL will be offering a Studio Calico Kit as a RAK. However, photo is not available at the moment.

Goodbye baby

I had to say goodbye to this baby after my colleague agree to adopt it from me. I've spent more time than the first bag for this one, as this pattern is harder to sew. What more initially I've used a harder under-layer.

I love this fabric and was intended to get more of it, but there is no more offer on this one. So I've ordered another pattern which surely will produce another baby later.

The best part of this baby is its zipper which make it more secure to bring around.

What more it has a zipper interior compartment and some slot for handphone and smaller items.

It also comes with two side pockets.

The hardest part in making this make is sewing the second line around the top. I've actually hand sew it 'cos it is just too thick to get into my sewing machine. I wanted to make another one in this pattern.

Some silly time

We were waiting in the parking space like usual when hubby got things to do in the bank. From this bank to the other in settling his bills. We were waiting and got nothing to do, while wasting on the petrol, we might as well off the engine, open up the car doors and let some fresh air in, what more is it more environmental free, right? So the boys got bored and they got out of the car and started doing some silly things, so I quickly grab my camera and ask for some silly poses, ha! This is what I get.

This is definitely worth to capture and recorded down. Though we had so much of these silly times from time to time, but it had been more fun with the camera and a story to tell. Hopefully when the boys are older, they'll still laugh about it

Have pulled out my stash of doilies, Prima flowers, My Mind's Eyes paper, Making Memories journaling pad, mist and Martha Stewart butterfly punchers, plus a swirl die-cut from MM's Slice machine.

Would I let them do those silly pose again? Yup, definitely!

Something that I've made

First thing that I wanted to share, a bag!
Yup, one that I've managed to copy and made from a book. I've changed a bit on its front design since I don't have a magnetic button. One that my colleague said "See first la.. if you can make it."
heheh... I did! And I was even using it today.. well.. , though the sewing part is not perfect, still .. this is my first handbag!

It has a zip pocket and space for hand-phone inside:

Okay kah? Can bring out to the street?

I think I want to add another two button on the side though, to make it more secure, else people can easily grab things out from my bag!

Anyway, definitely going to make more and I've already got some encouragement from my sister to do so, yay!!

Lost his tooth

Mervin lost his first tooth on 17 July this year. Yup, it was being pulled away by him school's auntie (the caretaker) and later he lost it. Of course he was so proud in having his little tooth pulled off 'cos he's been trying to do that and I was also helping him to do that without success.

Glad that the auntie able to pulled it out and save me RM50 for dental visit..hehe..

Here are some close-up of the layout:

Using a few chipboard buttons with embossing powder and mist, plus a few die-cut brads from My Mind's Eye lost & found line.

Punched out a few butterflies using Martha Stewart punchers, mist them and using gel medium.

Have used Technique Tuesday Ali Edward's stamp for "today" and some Basic Grey letter stickers.

I was trying to use mist, embossing powder, stamps and gel medium on my layout. Trying to relive the Iris Babao Uy's challenge in Scrap-it-lah before.

Yes!! It is up! The September challenge over at Scrap-it-lah is up!!
The challenge:

Create your own mixed media background, using printed paper as a base. Be sure to include at least 3 different paint colours in whatever effects you fancy. This can be using stamps, bubble wrap, etc etc - its all up to your imagination.

Sketch, colors and pattern challenge

Came across a good sketch, a good color combo and pattern challenge that I took all and turn it into one layout instead of three different one.

Here is one layout that I did using Creative Scrapper Sketch #165, color combo challenge #202 and a pattern to be in the layout - wood grain.

I'm also trying to use misting, stamping and embossing in my layout, no chipboard though. 'Cos I'm thinking of the August challenge over at Scrap-it-lah. Still, I'm happy that at least this time I've used my masking template from Prima that I bought recently and today is it first time being used.

I'm also loving the glittering embossing powder that I have on those pigment ink, what more I get to use my favorite stamps from Technique Tuesday Ali Edward design. Yup, have been using them for the recent layouts.

Scrap-a-little sketch #50

I'm so thrill to receive a package filled with Fancy Pants' Delight papers the other day. It is from Helen of Scrap-a-little. She has got flower tutorials, sketches and techniques to share in her blog. Her sketches are all here in her sketch blog.

To thank her for the gift, here is a layout that I did using her sketch #50:

I've been wanting to scrap these photos awhile back, but just didn't find the right sketch or the right mood to do it. It is in fact just two different pictures, one is the copy of the other one if you look closely.

I've used a lot of Technique Tuesday Ali Edward's stamps on this layout with different ink.

The letter sticker is while on white doily, but since it has dimension, you won't have problem reading it.
That butterfly is from Martha Stewart's punch, misted and layered together.

Helen has got so many great sketches for you to try out, why now pick one or pick some today and start creating. She'll be happy if you can quote her site once you've used her sketch.
Here is how all those pages look like, I've fan them out and I've only used one of the paper to make the layout above, plus my own craft and cream card-stock.

I did a very simple, quick and easy digital page of myself! Yay!!! This is consider my first attempt in creating a digital scrapbook using My Memories Suite. It is very straight forward and quick, especially with the help of the ready made template and design album.

I've actually chosen some extra design template or pattern paper together with the suite, but somehow the network here is so slow that it took me ages to get the suite downloaded and even the boy page also took me few hours. Probably it would be good to purchase the back-up disc so that I can install it from the disc itself rather than download it from the net.

I still have a few more patterns to download and somehow the speed had put me off.

Gosh!! I've been too busy and had forgotten that it is already August and it means there are new challenge up in Scrap-it-lah blog!! Have you checked it out yet?
This is so far the challenge that I've enjoyed most with all those techniques needed in one layout. It is just so fun and also one layout that I haven't forgotten that I knew all those technique, thus this is really a good reminder for myself to use my embossing powder, my stamps and mist.
This time, the challenge is by Iris Babao Uy. I lover her whimsical layout that uses lots of misting, stamping and charms. Her challenge is to have ""three things in your layout... stamping, embossing, and misting. Plus there must be at least one raw chipboard to dress up"

Sketchy Thursday's sketch 7.28

Haven't been much of scrapbook layout recently. Felt like loosing touch with a good friend. So when I found this sketch over at Sketchy Thursday and later on found some old photos that I haven't scrapped, I straight away get down to create. Been really missing those creativity work.

There are over 70 people using the sketch at the moment. Sketchy Thursday like its name says, they always have new sketch on Thursday and you've got one week time to play with it and have it link to their Mister Linky. If you are chosen, you can even win yourself some scrapbook stuff! So, have fun!

I've used Scrapbook Daisies February mini kit #2 - True Blue for this layout. The paper line is from My Mind's Eye - Fine and Dandy which comes with one piece of die-cut stickers.I've used this kit in another layout: The greatest of these is love,
I've also used Technique Tuesday Ali Edward's stamp. I love those sentiments that Ali created and pretty much love to use it in my layout as a reminder of the meaning in life that I should be looking for.

A week in the life - Sunday

Last day to record the project of "A week in the life". First time doing this project and kind of getting the idea of recording bits and pieces of things everyday. Still I've so much to learn and so many photos that I've missed taken during the course of the week.
For Sunday, these are some of the photos that I've taken:

early morning game time...

Start cooking for our branch, fried noodle.

Pleasant sweet visitors.

Doing the household chores - folding up all those clothes.

Mom was having a gesture filled conversation with Calvin.

Managed to slot in some craft time and created a page from scratch.

Will have to think of how to gather all these together in an album and transfer those written words in the album. Hope this is the beginning of a project that I've do every year.

A week in the life - Saturday

A day that I've learnt so much!

First is that boys love Ice Lemon Tea and leaning the Abacus.

The hidden message from the boys: Even though Mervin said he doesn't want to have noodle, but still he took it after I've ordered it. Same goes to Calvin.

I think they are glad that they can be out from the house for a while in learning new things - doing fun calculation with their abacus.

As for me, I was glad that I've got some time for myself to replenish my hair in the hand of the professionals.

And buoy am I glad that hubby is back from his trip and we get to listen to a professor talk about personality and get to do a personality test for ourselves, which turn out to be so true on whom we are! I'm so glad that I've enrolled ourselves in that talk.

While we were in the talk, the boys were with Aunty Lucy and her lovely girls. Am so thankful for this friend who can babysit the boys while we attend the talk. Furthermore, the boys had a great time over there, no fighting as all! Hope to do that more actually - let them be with girls instead of boys who may play rough. I had some catching up time with Lucy too.

Evening time, the boys are glad to meet up with their cousin for some games of PSP, what more they get to see some fireworks from the neighbor.

A week in the life - Friday

A day that the boys are looking forward to as they can see their cousins while their parents are away and I had to fetch them over to my mom's place. Calvin and Mervin were super excited about playing BayBlade with their cousins.

After a night of play in grandma's house, it was time to rest. I'm glade that they had a tired night, thus falling into bed without much hassle.

I even get myself some time in doing some honey corn flakes minis.

I even thought to myself I can handle the 4 boys when I have to.

A week in the life - Thursday

I lost what happened on Thursday. All I could remember is I was so tired at the end of the day and Calvin was still struggling with his homework.

Had an early night for Mervin while Calvin tried to finished off his homework. Then was story time for Mervin. They still love story time before bed, no matter what. No matter how late. No matter how tired they are. Sometime though, they’ll forget about story time and went straight to bed after their bottle of milk. Which to me is a great news, means I can rest early.

Calvin keep on trying to blow dry his hair in a way that he wanted it to stay in place. But.. well, since it is too short, he can't do much about it. He even tried to use my hair clip!

A week in the life - Wednesday

Thanks to Ali, that I get the idea in positioning my camera in certain position while I was doing certain things in the morning. Not so attractive photos, but at least it let me know how is things like when I was doing my daily routine.

Yes! I'm trying to follow this project through with Ali Edwards and today is the first day for this project. It will continue till this Sunday. Hopefully I am able to record whatever that I wanted to and hopefully through this I'll get to know myself and my family more.
Ali is already started giving out gifts through her blog, so you don't want to miss this, so do check out her blog everyday to get those chances in winning some thing from her blog.
For today itself, I've already taken a few photos. But since I'm making it a very personal record of my life, I will not share the details here. Probably just some photos.

Hello people, how are you all doing? Have you joined in the fun challenge over at Scrap-it-lah? Have you also been trying out other challenges in the net? Where do you normally go? And do you find it challenging at all? Or do you find it helpful for you to try out new techniques or do your layout faster with challenges?

I've been joining challenges here and there, especially sketches. I love sketches, especially when it also comes with some twist on the sketch. Over at Sketchy Thursday, they have this sketch challenge which also include:

• A summer topic
• The colors red, orange and/or yellow
• A journaling spot

This is the sketch:

I know I've used the colors part and the journal spot which is there on top of my doily. But not so sure if I've done the summer topic part. What do you think?

Here are some close-up of the layout, which I tried on embossing and stamping. I love Ali Edwards stamp in Technique Tuesday. Love those sentiments that reminded me on how I should be grateful on small little things, that I should appreciate my day to day life.

I've also used my Making Memories Slice to create that swirl and layered them into a thick and sturdy swirl that I can mist and embossed.

This layout is so not the usual kind of my-style. It is an experiment in using new technique. Even that sort of paper background is not my kind of pattern that I would normally go for. So what do you think? Would you also be inspired to join Sketchy Thursday challenges? Don't forget to head on over to SIL for the July challenge.

Those cute faces

Hi there! Have you tried the challenge over in Scrap-it-lah yet!? Tell you what, there were only 4 people put their links in the Mister Linky for last month challenge! It means it is pretty high chances that you'll get chosen for the RAK if you put your creativity into good use and have fun!!

For now, I wanted to share a layout that I did for a challenge that I joined for the first time over in Once Upon A Sketch!

The challenge is to use the sketch below plus:

Journalling Criteria: Who is in the photo? Name the person in the photo and at least 1 fact about them. This can be personality, character, talent , achievement etc. but it must be at least 2 sentences long.

I've used a photo that I found in my stash that I haven't put into any layout. This photo was taken in 2005!!

Just love to have found it and look at those cute little faces of my niece and nephew and my son and their friends! So cute and indeed I can't find those cuteness in them anymore for now, 'cos they've all grown out of those cute faces.

SIL July challenge

Hello, how are you all doing? It is already July! Half the year has already gone!!! So fast huh!? It seems that this year I haven't scrap that much compare to last year. I kind of slowing down and the question keeps prompting me is: "How I want to preserve my photos and memories."

I've been joining lots of challenges last year and that is still one of the way for me to get my photos scrap in a layout.

This month, over at Scrap-it-lah, we have a challenge for you,The challenge is:

Use at least 5 photos in one layout which means the layout must be multi-pics. There must be 5 visible photos in it
Photos must be a mixture of black and white and coloured photos please
There should be visible journalling on the layout.

It is pretty challenging for me consider that I haven't been taking photos recently and I've developed all my photos in colors!

So, what I did this time is to gather 5 photos from 5 different time and places for this layout:

I've made more folded flowers, other than using those ready made ones.

Also, I've used doilies in the layout, which is really cheap if you get it from shops selling bakery stuff. It is also a great way to soften the look of the page.

Wedding Anniversay

It was the 4th wedding anniversary of my friend LeeYo recently and she has requested to make a card for her hubby..
hehee.. wanna see how the card looks like? Ya.. I guess you are curios..
So, here is it!

I was playing around with the My Mind's Eye kit from Scrapbook Daisies. And tried to make that flower. It is actually very easy to make, just that a bit hard to find a brad with long legs to get it through the paper.

So, LeeYo, Happy Anniversary!!! May you have hundreds of years to come.. haha!

Ali Edward is going to do this again this year and I'm intended to join in. Crossing my fingers and really hoping that I can do a record such as this.

I always think that other people's week in the life is more interesting, probably due to the fact that my life is kind of too routine, not much of excitement that I can share, places or things that I do out of the extra-ordinary. But then I'm reading this book - "Bonjour, happiness!" which is really talking about how to look for happiness and Jamie Cat Callan did point out that you need to look for happiness instead of persuing happiness. Her philosophy is some what like Ali's "Life artist".

I also love Ali's December daily, which I've done using that idea in 2011. I know I definitely going to do another December Daily this year, but let me join in the fun in creating A Week in the Life first.

Hello... how are you all doing? How was the celebration of Fathers Day?

Mine, like I said, we did nothing..haha! But I did put in some "kisses" into the little box that I've made and gave to my dad. My dad is not someone who show his feelings easily, what more to his daughter.. He just took it calmly and expression-less. Ha! Nevertheless, I know he's kind of enjoying the idea.

Here is a card that I've made long ago which I didn't manage to share. Very simple card just hoping that it might just brighten up your day a little bit.

Happy Father's Day! How are you all doing on this Father's Day?

For us, well.. nothing.. absolutely nothing.. we just stay at home, chilling out.

On the crafty side, I've something to share today. It is all started with a visit.

Thanks to a friend who came back for a visit from England, I get to have this - Cadbury Roses as a gift, of course plus a bookmark in remembering of the Royal Wedding!

Bookmark? Been keeping it nicely away.

Chocolate? - finished eating. Just left the little box, of course. So what can I do with the box? Make another box from craft paper and maybe can use it to put little "kisses" inside. So, here is what I've done by using the Roses box as a template:

I simply decorate it with some punched out butterflies using Martha Stewart's punch and a doily.

Well, what's important is of course what is in the box!

Now, all you all can do this simple box too, you'll just need the template. In fact, you can copy any box that you like and create a customize box yourself.

Hello peeps, how are you all doing?
First off, thanks for "Like"-ing my blog, hehe.. I hope to gain more popularity, and who knows some advertiser will be looking for me :p
Most of all, I would love to see more people doing scrapbook over here in Sabah. I hope more people will come too know about this fun and really meaningful hobby which also indirectly let you find yourself along the way and relaxes your mind, inspired you to create and hopefully make us all aware of our environment, and be grateful in our daily blessings.

Here is a layout that I wanted to share - one that is really quick and come together without a sketch. I've just used my butterfly punches from Martha Stewart, some bling and the Lost & Found paper line from My Mind's Eye plus those brads and stickers that came along in the great kit that Martha puts together.

How are you all doing on this festive day? Today is actually Duan Wu Jie for the Chinese all around the world. Hope you have had your share of the dumpling today.

Scrapbook wise, I've done a layout for the sketch challenge over at Scrapbook Daisies - blog challenge #5.

Here is what I've done:

Base on this sketch:

I love the pop-up die-cut and chipboard stickers. They are just so cute!

This layout came together pretty easily with the sketch. The longest part is to type out the journal and cut them into strips then adhere them into the layout after I've ink them a bit with distressed ink.

I'm actually using Scrapbook Daisies month kit for this layout. Do check them out and Martha always prepare wonderful kits. I'm using March Happy Go Lucky kit and February True Blue mini kit.

My 1st assignment as DT for SIL

This post is about my first assignment over at Scrap-it-lah: - "Things I can't live without".

It has been up since 1st June and you'll have it until the end of this month, mid-night of June 30th (Malaysia Time) to join in the fun and stand a chance to get a lovely RAK:

Envelope album

Hi there, how are you all doing?
We over here in Sabah, Malaysia is having out Harvest Festival holidays for two days - today and tomorrow!! Yay!

Today I want to share with you an Envelope album that I've made. The idea in making it is from this tutorial from North Ridge Publishing. I am so going to buy the Mini Album inspiration book!

It is so happened that I've got a bunch of photos from the recent Family Day of my DS, and this is what I've made:

The envelope is easy, you'll just need an envelope template and start creating from there. The difference between what is being shown in North Ridge Publishing and my album is that I didn't use brad to create the twine securing part. Instead I've used eyelets and some small circles to create it.

I'm keeping the medal in one of the envelope. I can actually keep letters or some other memorabilia in those envelopes.

I hope I'll get the Mini Album inspiration book pretty soon and start creating other mini albums.

an idea from Kristine, who always make colorful pages and crafts. Just love how she uses her punches in her projects.

This time, what I've stolen is the wall-hanging with "Dream happy dreams" wording! It is just so gorgeous and I wanted that in my boys' room too. So, this is her version of the wall-hanging:

And this is my version of it using acrylic base:

It is just so cute, right? hehe.. giving myself a high hat to wear :p

I've used We R Memeory Keepers' Hippity Hoppity papers, American Craft letter stickers, Martha Stewart butterfly punch, Fiskar retro flower punch and an acrylic piece from an album set.

I do hope however that the boys are really having happy dreams every night.

CS #155 Life is good...

I love this simple sketch from Creative Scrappers. I knew I'm going to use my square punch after seeing it and of course using butterfly and swirl too.

since I have a small photo of my two sons taken using my hand-phone, I wanted to limit the white space of the layout, thus I've put a border around the whole layout. I wanted also to be bold in using red as the background, thus I chose red!! Here is what I came up with from the sketch:

I just love that I was able to capture this moment of them in the car looking at what they've taken using my camera. That's why the title and journal go: Life is good if you share [more], love more, laugh more with each other.

Those die-cute pop up stickers and felt stickers from Pebbles are just so fun to use and they are so adorable.

Love how it turns out though I still think that maybe I should be putting more things on the layout.

Scrapbook Daisies challenge #1

Here is a sketch that is being used by Scrapbook Daisies from Creative Scrappers for their blog challenge #1. Check it out as you have until end of this month (31st May) to finish off the challenge.

Here is what I came up with the sketch:

I've used two photos that was taken by hubby using his hand-phone and I've just recently got it processed in small print. Glad to have taken those photos 'cos normally I won't be in our travel photos! Mostly are the boys.
So, here goes. I used more doilies this time, which include even the background paper! Love that huge doily, wish to have more!! It is in Scrapbook Daisies March kit #1 - Hello Sunshine.
I love that wire pink love! Isn't it cute?

And... I've done more of those retro punch out flowers again! They are just so easy to do and can easily match with the layout using just the same patter paper, just the reverse of it. And guess what? I've actually punched out those flowers before adhering the shape paper behind my photos, that way, those punched out holes can be hidden by another patter paper. A great way to save paper actually.

Layout using CS sketch

Gosh! It is May and I haven't been updating here since last month!! I've been wanting to add things up here, but just couldn't get a clear photo of what I've done. It is always late when I reach home and I always go out from the house early before sun rise. So indoor photo is not a clear one, thus I've been waiting till today.

Here is the first that I wanted to share. It is the unfinished layout that I did - "Sisters?", I've added the journaling as intended using typewritter:

The second layout is using a sketch from Creative Scrappers #154.

I love the look of those doilies in the sketch, thus I've used two sizes of doilies in my layout, which I've misted and stamped, here is what I've done using an old photo of my DS:

DS was about 2 years old, still chubby and with a cheeky smile. Love this photo, 'cos I seldom get him smiling in front of the camera.

I also love how those banner chip board come together in the layout. The doily stamp, the paper and the chipboard are all from My Mind's Eyes. They made this layout come together easily.

I've also misted those punched out butterflies and layered them to make them more steady.

Away and back

Hi peeps, how are you all doing? Have you all joined in the fun lift in Scrapbook Daisies yet? You still have about a week time to do so.

I've been away for a few days for some official duties over in another city - Kuala Lumpur and when I got back, I've almost 200 mails to read, 200 blog posts to follow and 8 assignments to be done in my other blog. Phew! I wonder what will happen if I have no internet access for one month!?

I guess I'll be missing a lot! First of course is my craft time. However, I did manage to get into a craft store(Craft Heaven) in KL and bought myself a Stazon ink pad, a gold color Tattered Angel mist, a Dew Drop chocolate ink pad and foam stickers. Yes, that's all I got for myself, 'cos there isn't much choice in the store. How I wish there is a store as big as Two Peas over here, I think I'll haul things!

Another thing is, though the store hasn't got lots and lots of stuff, but it does have some cute paper which I refrain myself in buying 'cos I still have a few kits that haven't really been used up yet! What more I know that Martha in Scrapbook Daisies will sure get us some nice kit every month, so I can stop buying any other pattern paper. And I'm not good in matching embellishments anyway.

So, ya.. that's all I got from Craft Heaven.

Now, about where I stayed.

I've been staying in Hotel Istana in Kuala Lumpur. I love its bathroom! And I've got myself the round mirror in the hotel, not exactly with the same mechanism but at least I've got it now and would love to get it install in my bathroom.

1 sketch 2 layouts

Are you all watching the Royal Wedding? I've schedule this post and hopefully by then I'm in front of my TV and holding on to the remote.

I wanted to share about a sketch that I've used twice and yet the 2nd layout is not completely done yet, still left the journalling where I intend to do it using typewritter and in strip of paper.

The first layout was done using a really pretty pattern paper from My Mind's Eye - Fine and dandy, which is Scrapbook Daisies February mini kit #2.

Here is a picture of the layout:

I know.. it is so much simpler from the sketch, right? Because the paper is just too cute to be covered by other pattern paper and I've only used a misted doily behind the photo and some stickers from the die-cut sticker sheet in the kit.

Oh.. and I love the large Martha Stewart butterfly punch, just look at the result where I've punched two and layered them with some tiny round stickers on its body, love it!

I've also used Ali Edward stamp from Technique Tuesday since I don't want to do lots of other journaling, I just want the boys know that I love them and how much they love each other though they sometimes fight with each other. This stamp is just great for the layout.

Another layout that I did using the same sketch is this:

This is done using Basic Grey January page-of-the-month kit, the paper line is call Curio. I've done some fussy cutting on the strip pattern paper to get the lace, and lots of distress ink on the edges.

Have also punched out butterflies and misted it with Maya Road mist in Avocado metallic, love its shinny look. Those crochet doilies are from Sweet vintage and I've also put some ink on it.

I think I prefer the 2nd layout which has that distressed look. What do you think? Which one do you prefer?

A lift - Be brave, be you

Here is a lift that I did following Kristine's "book" layout. Her layout are all so gorgeous and I found one that I can used with my two photos of my son standing on the beach enjoying the wave.

I've also used the paper flower which was being taught in Scrapbook.etc. It is so simple to do and will harden 'cos I used gel medium as the glue to glue it down on a small piece of circle. As for the retro punched flower, I've stamp with Technique Tuesday's wording stamp and distress it with Tim Holtz's distress ink. Love how the whole flowers turn out.

Love mini album

Did this mini album today with left over pattern paper from Echo Park sweet summer time, plus the new stamp set that I get from Technique Tuesday - Love by Ali Edwards. I just love those quotes and simple sentences and it is just perfect for this album which contains photos of my family.

This little house chipboard from Maya Road is just so fun to work with, what more with colorful Echo Park papers.

I've also used Martha Stewart's butterfly punchers and Fiskar Retro flower punch. I created the front retro flower by stamping it with yet another Technique Tuesday Verbose stamp. Distressed it with Tim Holtz's antique linen distress ink. Love the result.

Here are the inner pages decorated with Sweet summer time's element stickers and more of Ali's stamp.

I wish I've a smaller circle punch though, just to match up with Ali's round stamp.

Hello peeps, how you are all doing on Sunday? Hope you are having a great day.

Here is a sketch from Liz Qualman which is being used as the sketch challenge over at Scrapbook Daisies that you can join in the fun too. Just head on over to the forum and look for April sketch challenge.

My version or implication from the sketch? Here is it, a page that is done for my DS for his enjoyment of hand painting during the school sports day of 2nd DS last year.

He himself loves to draw. What more if he can get his hand painted? Absolute fun for him. That satisfaction smile of his is priceless and he even came home trying to draw it himself!

I've used Webster's page kit from Scrapbook Daisies to do this page, plus some gold charm, doilies, Humbly print overlay, Prima swirls' stamp and Martha Stewart butterflies punch.

I've used Golden gel medium (gloss) on those butterflies and that two strips of misted white cardstock is because I can't find any pattern paper to match my layout.

Resting and did a layout or two..

I've been resting at home after this and this.

Well, I guess if you are a real scrapbooker, probably rest means able to do some more scrapbook layouts!

That's what I did! One that it can help to clear off any stress and 2nd it feels good to be able to create.

So, this is what I've done during my rest:

A layout done for the lift challenge over at Scrapbook Daisies. Am using Webster's page, one that I'm not so familiar with, especially when the paper itself is so pretty that I felt a bit guilty to spoil it with my scrapping style.

I've tried not to cover much of the pattern paper and have used swirls stamp, distressed pattern paper to punch out butterflies, misted doilies and Prima flowers, hoping to create a vintage feel for the layout. But I'm not sure, does the page look vintage to you all?

Here are some close-up of the embellishments and stamps that I've used:

I'm definitely going to get more vintage looking stamps like wordings, birds or watch into my collection.

March Kristine Davidson Sketch over at Scrapbook Daisies

There are actually 7 challenges over at Scrapbook Daisies each month. 3 of them are sketch challenges, the rest are color, journaling, stash and lift challenges. You'll have to finish up those challenges within that month once they are out. The reward? A kit from Scrapbook Daisies!! Isn't great!?

Today I want to share about the layout that I did base upon one of the sketch challenges over at Scrapbook Daisies:

I came up with this layout:

Which I've used Basic Grey Max & Whiskers kit, which is also one of the monthly kit from Scrapbook Daisies. The swirls are from Slice maching, and the white flower is from Prima and my own doily. The rest are all in the kit.

Isn't that puppy sticker cute? Oh, and I love the brad with a paw.

CS #148 & journaling challenge

How are you all doing? Yes, my creative juices are back again, yay! And this time I've made another layout using Creative Scrapper's sketch #148 plus using the challenge idea of journaling over at Scrapbook Daisies. This is what I came up with:

I'm using this sketch:

All things are from Scrapbook Daisies Happy Together kit, except the doilies which are from my own stash. Just love the bling swirls that came with the kit. Swirls always make me think of butterfly, so here goes:

The pack of Prima flowers with glaze / thickles are just so pretty:

I've hidden my journaling behind the bottom left photo, which I've put another photo below too. A good way to include more photos in one page without jamming up the whole page.

The challenge over at Scrapbook Daisies is to use journaling spot in our layout, the best is of course do our journaling on those journaling spot.. Here I've used them for embellishment, title placement and journaling (date).

I love how the whole layout turn out, it has a soft feel with those misted doilies. And guess what? I put those doilies last into the layout! Thank God that they didn't tear easily and the adhesive haven't stay permanent yet. Ha!

Our little breakfast and something else

Check this out! My layout is being chosen as the layout of the week in Scrapbook Daisies, yay!! Thanks for spotting me Michelle.

Today I want to share a layout that I did yesterday. I'm so glad that I did some creative things, 'cos I was really having bad morning sickness, felt so weak before that. And guess what? After I did the layouts, I was totally fine and I can even cook!

Here is one of the layouts that I did for a sketch challenge over at Scrapbook Daisies.

I'm using this PageMaps sketch in the challenge:

I love to use bits and pieces of thing sometimes, this time even down to the Paper line name - Life is good tag is actually the paper border, it is just so cute to throw away. Here I raised it with form adhesive.

I did those punch out retro flowers again, thanks again Kristi for teaching how to make those flowers.

Sorry for the bad photo quality though, I just can't, so I took it right after I've done the layout late afternoon while it was raining outside.

Ya, sounds like the song I'm dizzy.. but really, I'm all dizzy here, had gone back to sleep this morning after brushing my teeth, some honey corn flakes and orange slices. Crazy!

It has been like this since I came back from Tawau. Keep on taking long breath, kept feeling hungry and yet something always seems stuck on my chest. I burb and did the most disgusting fart, still more burb later. I don't feel like doing anything other than sitting here looking at my boys got all excited over Plants vs Zombie.

I wonder how would I be tomorrow at work.

I wonder if I can even go through my eye test later.

I wonder if food taste okay to me later.

oooo..... am feeling dizzy again...

I haven't touch my glu in a week already. So, no creative things came out just yet.

CS #145 - our little escape

Love this sketch once I saw it in Creative Scrapper and right away know that I need to scrap the photo that we've taken while we had our short trip to Sandakan. It was a trip to attend our friend's wedding.

Here is the sketch:

And here is what I've done with the sketch together with the stash challenge over at Scrapbook Daisies:

The challenge is to use 3 buttons, 2 die-cut and 1 photo. I've use MM Slice machine to cut out the swirls, ink and mist them.

As for the buttons, they are from BoBunny, clear buttons, which I've glued them with PP behind to coordinate with my page.

When I saw the circle in the sketch, I knew that I would love to use doilies in my page and I did! Which I've mist it with Twilight color. Made some more flowers using doilies which also being mist.

Still love those butterflies punched out from Martha Stewart's punch and the MM brads.

Read this post this morning from another blog. Love the picture there:

It really puts a smile on my face seeing this picture, it also reminds that this is how my son's name came about. I adore Calvin and Hope that time, so I name after that little boy and hopefully my son also gets a bit of his characters, ha! True enough, he is funny, he loves to make his little brother laugh and he is sure curious, however he doesn't have a tiger with him all the time. Probably is there, but I couldn't see it.

Well, the read is actually started with the Art Journal thing, which I've no clue about and all the while I thought about my friend who has studied interior design in art school before, so maybe she'll be interested and re-live her artsy self again, 'cos she is not in children clothing and supply job. Well, Spidy, this post is for you.

Simply Perfect

Yup, these two are just too cute to miss (in these photos only LOL).

Those Simply Perfect papers are really hard to use, they are too pretty by themselves! I felt guilty to cover them up actually and each paper has glitters on them, breath taking to just look at them, so how can I just cut them up or cover them?

This paper that I chose to use is with a bird on the side, so I can still put my photos in the center and cover up those wordings which I was thinking if I should cut a hole in the middle so that I can use that PP again for cards maybe.

I used it anyway, and along the way I kept on telling myself it will be even prettier with my photos and memories on it. Everything is from the Scrapbook Daisies kit except the black Making Memories journal pad.

CS #139 - Christmas 2010

Did a layout using Creative Scrappers sketch #139 below:

I've got these photos of us in front of our brand new Christmas tree last year and it was our first year celebrating Christmas in our new house, finally call our own home.

Since the cardstock is a bit too empty for me, I've mist it with Maya Mist in Avocado Metallic Mist. I've inked those the "Christmas" chipboard with red ink, then mist them too. The "2010" was in plain white before.

Here you can see the same EK Retro flower punch again, plus a Prima flower and brad. Love that green button behind it, and that felt embellishment is just so cute!

Well, you still have a few days till the end of January to try out Creative Scrappers sketches and submit your link in their mister linky to stand a chance for their goodies.

I'm using the Christmas kit from Scrapping Daisies and I've just got another set of new kit in my mail today, yay!

What I have learned

I love what Ali wrote in her blog post today. I love how I can relate to her, totally and am glad that she put all those thoughts and wonders that I've been having into words.

I am glad that after reading her post, I don't feel that much of feeling alone, for there are doubts in me thinking that I might be the only person that is facing such difficulties right now. Now I know that it is totally normal and okay for where I am and who I am. Even on how I handle things. IT IS OK.

I'm also inspired to have a clear core value on which things that are important to me. I love all those quotes that she has in her post. There are also prompts for me to think, action for me to do and ponder, I am glad that I am a follower of her blog.

Hopefully I can also do those things like "reading less about it and doing more about simply living that way", as she has put it in her blog.

Here is another layout that I did using My Sketch World sketch in the sketch challenge over at Scrapbook Daisies.

This is my take on the sketch with a photo of my 2nd DS taken quite some time ago:

Now.. you see, I still have lots of photos that I've taken just because I like the look of things at that time, and then afterwards, can't find the right title for my page, maybe I should just do layout without title. Do you do that? I mean a layout with only journaling.

Another thing that I wanted to try is to make part of the journaling as the title.

I have actually raised the little heart shape near to the bunny to make it more dimensional.

Am using Basic Grey Max & Whiskers kit from both Basic Grey and Scrapbook Daisies.

Annual Concert LO

This is the first layout that I did without using a sketch for this year! *LOL*

Do I sounds like I hit the jackpot? Oh well.. 'cos normally I start making a layout with a sketch somewhere. This time I just pull things out from my stash and start thinking how I can enhance the page with my glimmer mist, my punches and matching PP, plus one great challenge help me - Scrapbook Daisies Stash Challenge.

So, this is the layout that I've cook up. And guess what? It has been selected as the layout of the week over at Scrapbook Daisies! Buoy.. how I wish there are gift for being spotted..hehee.

The Stash Challenge is to use the following things in your layout:

5 buttons
3 brads
Some aplha stickers or thickers
2 kinds of patterned paper
Use that sewing machine or handstitch
a border
and pull out a couple of embellishments

I think I've done something extra this time, 'cos I've even used rub-on on pattern paper and cut them out as labels.

This layout is a lift from LG's layout and also with the use of Pencil Lines sketch 221

The flower is being made from my new EK retro flower punch, really glad that I've finally got the punch. On how to make the flower, there is a tutorial available over at Scrapbook Daisies forum.

The idea of using negative space of the butterfly punch is such a good one that I must use it in my layout too. Thanks LG.

Those precious moment

After the first layout in the year of 2011, I'm hoping to do more and get back to my creative self as soon as possible,, so I think so far I'm doing just fine.

I've been copying down sketches, challenges and started my scrapbook craft again.

Here is one that using Sketchy Thursdays sketch 1.13 and the color challenge over at Scrapbook Daisies using Seafoam, peach, white and melon. However I think I've added some other colors in there, like the green letter sticker and brown with red flower PP.

Anyway, here is the sketch:

I'm using the past kit from Scrapbook Daisies - Echo Park: life is good. I've actually been saving it for the right layout and here it is! There is still so much of my kits that I haven't touch!

First layout in 2011

I'm so glad that I managed to do my first layout this year and after that the 2nd and hopefully the 3rd one is coming.
To begin the year with an auspicious title, ha! So here is it: "Life is good"

Hopofully this new year is a really really good year to me and my family.
Am using the beautiful Basic Grey kit and some old stuff from other kit. I love how the mix and match turn out, which include pearls, doilies, glimmer mist, Teresa Collin's butterfly, sticker and tag.

New year.. new year.. January started without me preparing and soon the first week will be gone.

I'm trying to find myself a little word for this year, but am not sure how to go about it.

Then I discovered that there is this life project that is going on in Big Picture, which I would love to do, and what more the kit looks gorgeous. I've missed the Project 365 last year, so I wanted so much to own that kit, unfortunately Amazon don't send the kit to Malaysia. *sigh* Then I figure probably I can make my own version of the kit with the right 12 x 12" protector, but found out that Scrap-n-crop run out of stock for that kind of protector. *sigh*

Maybe I'll just stick to those challenges over in Scrapbooks Daisies. I'm getting their kit plus the Basic Grey monthly kit.

I've been saving and saving my kits, I mean I haven't been able to use them actually. Very wasteful?

Well, eventually I'll come to use them. I've already been using the BG December kit to do my December Daily. Ya.. 2011 and yet still doing the 2010 December Daily.

Well, I gather myself and start creating again. I've been lacking behind so much.

I've been doing my December Daily. I'm using a 6x6" paper pack plus those tranparency, those cut up 12x12", old stuff from here and there, plus the December kit of Scrapbooks Daisy. Am glad that I've waited for it to start compiling my album. I'm using 2 rings for the album and now the rings are getting smaller and smaller. I'm going to need a bigger ring.

December Daily Day 21 - 23

21st December (Tuesday): Have a date with Grace R. and Carol A. in Green Olives, Karamunsing Capital. A great escape for a while with girls. We all are being blessed with our different way of life and life styles. Everyone of us has different perspectives in life and different measurement on things that is important to us. Am glad we have this season to share and live.

22nd December (Wednesday): Today is the 冬至, means the beginning of Winter. This day is being celebrated by all Chinese. We had lunch in in-laws' home then dinner in 山芭. Sis Rebecca bought 叩肉 specially for this occation and mom has bought duck, cook a whole chicken and some vege. A feast to us all, not forgetting her yummy soup.

23rd December (Thursday): I've taken the day off just to spend with myself, ha! Coincidenly Yong Vui called, who came for Christmas from UK, yay! So went out with her to do some girls' stuff in the afternoon. Thus Calvin and Mervin spent the afternoon time in Kiddies club and we all went for a swim except KF. They were so happy in the pool and this time Mervin tried on the bigger pool and he is loving it! However he still not ready for the water slide.

24th December (Friday): Christmas eve. Half day at work, got my hair and nail done but didn't manage to go to the 9:30pm service 'cos it was raining and somehow we all just couldn't drag ourselves out from the house. So we have stayed in. I've watch the Hong Kong series. It just felt that I've missing on something, I don't feel the Christmas atmosphere without going to church, without singing praises to the Lord, without gather with other believers and greet each other Merry Christmas. Should really go to church next year.

25th December (Saturday): Presents opening day. The boys didn't have many presents, they only get it from us, uncle Alex and Rebecca Yi-yi, but they haven't got their presents from her yet. It was so exciting to them, and to me either. Maybe I should have safe for the presents, should have gotten them something other than books. I mean I can buy books for them every now and then, maybe I should get them something that they can play with, but I thought books are more beneficial 'cos they can learn words from it.

December Daily Day 19 - 20

19th December (Sunday): A day that I've been waiting for actually.You haven't know what to expect (me too) from the Children's party over All Saints Cathedral where Aunty CC has already bought you tickets to join in the fun. It was also the day that our church's toys library MoU signing ceremony in the morning. You got so excited seeing those bouncing toys which the youth volunteer already been sitting on them.
After lunch in Likas square where the two of you finished off your plates of rice with squecky clean result, and fetching dad from the air-port. We went over to All Saints Cathedral, but it was pouring at that time and flooded part of the church's lower ground. Anyway, I managed to leave you two with Aunty CC and went off with dad for a stroll in Suria doing some shopping for ourselves.
It is another exciting day for you with lots of goodies from the church. Glad that you both are fine and can have fun without me around.

20th December (Monday): We went off to have dinner in Ka Pin (Inanam) due to faulty pipe at home. This time, you also finished off your food, which you love the fried rice in Ka Pin. Really happy to see that you love your food. As usual, you played while we were on our journey home.

December daily Day 16

16th December (Thursday): Got home all alone today 'cos the boys were in mom's place. So I get some time for myself which is a good time to wrap up that two last gifts. I've used the idea that I saw in 100Yen shop. Make a simple paper bag and jazz it up with doilies. That simple, but it make a big difference especially when I've got cute polka dot ribbon on it too. I hope to put a smile on to the persons who got these gifts.

On the other hand, I'm trying to put up the December Daily album, but can't decide on what size of album should I create, then what pattern paper should I used. I know I've bought Scrapbooks Daisies kit, so I think I'm going to wait for the kit and start doing my album, but I'll still keep the journal here, else I will never get the album done.

17th December (Friday): Had some time with hubby when he got back from outstation. We actually sneak off to have Bakut Teh. We both know that there are dinner ready for us in his parents' place, but since we need to go to KK, so we took the opportunity to have dinner outside. ;)

18th December (Saturday): A day that I've been waiting for to get some time-off for myself while the boys went to GCC's "I've a dream" children party cum concert. But it turns out that I went in too. After sending the boys under Shirley's care, with a heavy heart I left thinking that I will meet up with Lucinda, but couldn't get her through her phone. Then was thinking to myself maybe I should really be in GCC to take care of the boys, so I called Shirley to find out if there is any extra ticket that I can buy. While talking to Shirley on the phone trying to figure out if I should go in, I got a parking space right in front of me and Lucinda called back saying that she wasn't able to meet up and we have arranged to meet next week.
After parking, without know if I can get in, I just went back to see if I can go in without a ticket. It turns out that my sis has an extra ticket! So many coincident which I don't believe is a coincident, I believe that God wanted me to be there. Glad that I did. Like Shirley put it "a blessing" indeed. What more the boys absolutely love it.

December daily Day 16

December Daily Day 13 - 15

13th December: Went to work without needing to send the boys to their grandpa's place. Mervin still prefer not to go there, instead he wanted to go to 外婆 place (grandma). Anyhow, they were there without any problem. That night I wrapped up all those gifts secretly when they were asleep.

14th December: Finally put all those wrapped up gifts under our tree.

15th December: Send KF off to the air-port and steal some time together. This would probably be the time that I'll miss him the most after the ransack incident.

These short entry mainly due to that I didn't record all my thoughts the day right after..

December Daily Day 8 - Day 12

8th December (Wednesday): Presents! Presents! Everyone in the office joined in for the annual Christmas gift-exchange. Most of us have got the presents ready, wrapped and put the names on. We tried to do it in a way that the receiver won't know who give the presents till they have guest and guest. It is our annual thing, it has been a tradition for our department. Everyone in the office look forward to it too. This year, we are going to have our lunch (makan-makan) outside in a hotel! yippie!! Buffet lunch! Can't wait.

9th December (Thursday): Yes, the buffet lunch day for our Bahagian. It was a fun filled day, lots of photos taken and yummy food. Really glad that we can have our lunch outside and we took our time to really enjoy the time together. After that was our gift-exchange done in the office. My secret gift giver was Shirley. She bought me gifts that I love to have and can’t decide to buy, truely appreciate it.

Today you went to the Church Day Camp in Krugma House. One that you’ve been looking forward to, and one that I refrain you from showing off to Mervin, ‘cos he was still at school. You really can’t wait to get there and start your fun day. When I went over to get Mervin’s cough syrup from you which I forgot to bring that morning, you were totally there, listening to the Sunday School teacher. When I pick you up, you wanted to show me things that You’ve made. You’ve totally enjoyed it and look forward to the 2nd day camp the next day. Calvin, Love that you’ve enjoyed the day camp.

10th December (Friday): Today is the 2nd day camp for Calvin, till 12:30pm. When we went over to Krugma House, you got excited in seeing the crowds and almost joining in the praise and worship. We waited patiently for ko-ko and you definitely looking forward to the party the next day. Mervin, Love that you didn’t make a fuss about not able to join the camp.

11th December (Saturday): Since the two boys went to Christmas Party in the church for the afternoon, we took the time off ourselves to go do nothing. Yup, just relax. Still I ended up buying gift for Qin’s birthday on 13th and our cleaning lady in the office. How to resist seeing those cute little mugs in 100 yen shop of Suria. *Forgot to take photo*

12th December (Sunday): Probably not your day today but at least you put it off better compare to years ago. I pray that you have more patient, kindness and love. I pray that you are slow to anger and not afraid to show your love to our boys. They needed to know and be assured of your love everyday. I pray that we all say good and encouraging words everyday.

December Daily Day 6 and Day 7

6th December (Monday): A day off for me to get my hair trim and colored, plus some Christmas shopping. Managed to get my hair done before noon and send Mervin to Aunt's place, then meet up with hubby for lunch in 1B, but before that, I manage to get lots of children books for Christmas presents. Being able to grab good deals is definitely a plus for me. What more I get to get a new table runner for RM9.90 which later found out that it is actually a bed runner..hahaha..

7th December (Tuesday): An official national public holiday for us - Awal Muharam. So we all got a day off and welcomed by Mother-in-law's Curry Laksa noodle. Yummy! Everyone of us, including my brother-in-law and family were there in my in-laws' house to enjoy this brunch specially made by MIL, 'cos she saw that those prawn in the local supermarket is very fresh. This is her family secret recipe, which one day I hope to get the recipe. Good food for family get together, though the boys don't eat it 'cos it is spicy.

As for the daily stuff.. I've got a clean car today, thanks to the male maid - hubby who wash and clean the car. Yupe, we have two maids at home, one is male and one is female (me lah!). We do all the house work ourselves, so don't expect us to always have a hotel like clean and shine interior. What more with the boys around, never expect a tidy 24 7 house, okay?

Even the car that I've - an MPV, (definitely not Toyota Camry) is always filled with stuff, paper cut out, tissue, dirt - in short, it is never clean, except for today. As for the condition of the car, I'm assured that it is always in good condition, 'cos I send it for regular maintenance. So far, auto repair is not needed. I know the mechanic help me to check everything down to the brake light, not sure if they check engine light thought.

Never mind, so far the car is working just fine. Let's just hope that it will continue to have a good condition in another 5 years at least.

December Daily day 3, 4 & 5

Day 3 (Friday): I still haven't given up buying home decoration for Christmas. So I went to City Mall, there is a Christian deco shop and they are having display just outside their shop with lots of cute decoration. This time, without restraining myself, oh well.. not totally refraining la.. I got myself some cute little deco to decorate the entrance table. I even bought a Christmas audio CD and had played it all the way back to the office. Now this is more like Christmas!

Day 4 (Saturday): We finally got our tree up and decorated! Yes, got all those decoration or ornaments all from a shop in Wawasan Plaza. As promised by hubby, we went out to have lunch, check out Cubic kitchen cabinet, swim in Sutera Harbor Resort, then get our tree's decoration. So happy that I got everything under RM50! The boys love to do the decoration of course!

Day 4 (Sunday): Paster Ester Soong: "everyday is a Christmas". Yup, Merry Christmas everyone!
Still got some more Christmas cards to make. I've done those for Aton (with request), still 6 more for Mil (with request), one for sis Rebecca (also with request), another two more for friends. After that will be making the December Daily for this year.

December Daily

I've told myself that I will do the December Daily, but today is already 2nd of December. Ok, I better write down what I wanted to remember here, else I would forget.

1st Dec.: Bought gift for the gift exchange in my office today. I know the person who I've picked the name will love it, 'cos that is what she use for her daily skin care - Mustika Ratu. Giving is fun and feel great, but if pocket has not much money, that is one problem, still I want to appreciate those besides me.
For instance hubby, though he speaks faster than he talk sometimes, that is to me only. After that he rethink back and re-answer me, I will just take the 2nd answer as the correct one.

2nd Dec.: Still haven't put up the Christmas tree deco, just the tree with the lights, but not even on yet.
Went to check on the Christian gift shop in Iramanis - Capstone, but the more I check on the books, gift and house decoration for Christmas, the more I felt depress for not able to buy all those things that are good as gift. What shall I give to the boys..? Anyway that I can make the house more Christmassy?

I'll keep updating here for my December daily till I got my album ready.

Well, who is judging?

Okay, this one is made after I've learn to make the scrap paper as embellishment from Paper Secret. It is a great way to use up all those scrap, you can also use it to create Christmas tree for your Christmas cards! Isn't it great?

These legs

I wasn't in a writing mood, nor scrapping mood, or craft or being creative. Just doesn't in that mode or mood. However I did manage to do a layout with these two photos that you been in my scrap-room quite some times: - These legs:

I'm using stuff from Studio Calico kit, not sure which month now since I've stop subscribing to the monthly kit now. I've one kit from Scrapbook Daisy which offer me another great kit from Basic Grey monthly page kit, so I've two and I think that is more than enough for me now. Yes, some of them are still in their original plastic bags and only a few papers are being used. I'm telling myself, eventually I'll come to them and use them all up.
I'm also telling myself to be generous in using paper paper and supplies, so my scrap-room will have more space for new stuff.

Here are a couple of close-up shot of the layout:

I've used a stamp from the girls' paparie on holiday die cuts, stamped with my Making Memories travel stamp set, using Staz-on ink. Just the way I like it. It looks like from a post-card huh?
Then I combine doily, more die-cut from the girls' paperie and overlap them.

Cos this is a boy's page and I was telling myself not to use flowers in the layout, that's how it turns out. I hope doily is not too girly for a boy's page.

Recently I'm really not up the par for writing blog post, just couldn't get myself to write anything. I didn't even do a single layout for the past weeks too. Gosh! I thought I couldn't live without scrapbooking, but eventually I did survive due to the heavy work schedule. And I do still have one more assignment to finished up which is already overdue. That is to get this thesis citation done for publication.

Finger crossed that everything will soon be over and I can come back to my creative self again. So, does anyone of you been not doing any scrapbooking recently? Tell me.. I would love to hear from you all.

Scrapbook challenges sketch # 221

It has been quite a while that I didn't join in the challenge over at Scrapbook Challenges. But I love seeing this sketch:

And there are some paper from Humbly Print that I wanted to use which has been sitting there for a long time, it is this brick print paper, plus some mesh or what is it call for that bandage cover .. I've mist it and well, look at how it turns out:

I wanted to get messy too, so I've played with my acrylic paint, mist and my distressed ink. I've used the white acrylic paint behind my title simply because it doesn't stand out that much, so with a whiter background, the green do show better.

Oh, and I'm loving those pearl swirl, would love to have a bunch of them in hand, though it is a boy's page, but who sets the rules anyway, LOL.

Another birthday card

Today is 10th of October 2010, which is 10.10.10!!! It would take another hundred years for us to have this in the calender, hope today is an auspicious day for us all.

As I said in the earlier post, there are several of my friends who celebrated their birthdays in October. One who is even work together with me. So, this is for Fion on the 4th. October. Happy Belated Birthday Fion!

What I used? emm.. bits and pieces of paper and of course a doily from the baking shop, which is a very cheap embellishment that I can mist, squeeze into flowers and maybe fold up for something else. With only RM5, I can have hundreds of them!

That butterfly is a punch out butterfly using Martha Stewart's butterfly punch. Those two flowers are from Dear Lizzy line stamp that I've colored.

Birthday card

It was a birthday for a friend, well more than one friends' birthday just past, and this card is given by her sister and ordered from me, yay! So happy that I've got some return on what I've done. I wanted to re-create this card, but too bad, I've run out of the same patter paper came in from Studio Calico kit. Due to wallet thinness, I've stop ordering from Studio Calico.

Two challenges

This is for Scrap-it-lah what's in my bag challenge using Sassy Lil' Sketch for September:

Lovely paperline huh? They are all from Echo Park Sweet Summer Time PP in Scrapbook Daisies kit. I hand-sew those "bling" with some beats from my stash to make the flower centre.

So, what's in my bag?

Wallet of course, then there are my hand-phone, car key, lipstick in the case, lip-gloss, hand lotion in sakura (love the smell), two pens! and of course the camera that I was using to snap these photos.

Two girls must have thought that I was crazy 'cos I was snapping my handbag in a studio's chair where they use to snap passport photos! Ha!

I felt like I have lost something that I didn't scrap as often as I could recently, probably just too tire to do so.

I saw lots of great pages over the Net, I wanted to scrap-lift them, I wanted to make it my own and record down stories of the day to day life. I wanted to use all those distressing technique, those mist, those chipboard, those fuzzy cutting and just have fun.

When I do scrap, I felt that I will pay more attention on things around me, on what my kids said, how they behave and how I respond, so that I can jot them down and put them all in my scrapbook page.

I wanted to do a mini-album about me and hubby, or simply a mini-album about things around the house, I definitely going to do this challenge.

I wanted to make more cards, cards just to say hello and I need to post out those cards that I've made.

So many things to do on a Friday morning. Maybe I'll start tonight.
