A lift from Susan W.

To me, Studio Calico kit is not easy to use. Some of the pattern paper mix very well.. and some just have to use moderately, that's what I discovered over at their designer team. They all have their personality and different ways in using the kit, but somehow I feel that their end results are very fun to look at and some are really refreshing.

I've actually lifted one of the layout from Susan Weinroth - No hippos
Isn't her layout cute! and simple, right? Just love it!

So, here, my mom and my niece during a belated mother's day celebration.

I love the simple clear design of this layout, it is very straight forward, not much of fancy fancy embellishment or cutting. Just love the way it is.

I think I'm going to lift more of her layouts :D  Thanks Susan!

Wonder

Hmm.. this photo looks over expose 'cos I took it outside right under the sun. Hmm... still lots to learn about photography. Anyway, this layout is using Studio Calico's sketch and kit. As for the color inspiration is from Color Room Palette 7.

The word wonder is die-cut using Slice basic element card #1.

Those butterflies are cut using Martha Stewart's punches.

As for the photo, it was taken one evening.

We are having a long weekend holiday here starting from today till next week Tuesday!
Happy holiday for us here!  Yippie!!

Full reveal

Okay, since I haven't sent this card out yet and since I'm not sure who to send it to, I'm going to just reveal it anyway, 'cos I might just forgot to reveal it later.

I actually love this card and enjoy looking at it when I got it done. Ha!

oh ya.. I have another thing to share here. It is a bag that I've made for my niece who always got more books or exercise books to carry, so she needed an extra bag and she loves green. So, with some left over scrapbook felt in the autumn theme and a little birdie, I've made this from fabric that I got from the curtain shop:

I've even made a pocket inside:

Well, this look fun and it is easy to make, maybe.. just maybe I'll make two more for the boys.

Sneak peek

Here is a sneak of the card that I've made using Prima's flower, some twine from Studio Calico, Cosmo Cricket paper pack, Martha Stewart's punch, oh, and those glitter flower stickers (forgot to get down their names).

Yupe, can't show the whole card right now, 'cos I haven't sent it out yet.

How is your Saturday so far? Mine involves lots of driving. First I drove the boys for art class at 2pm, but when I reach there, there were still sleeping, and I just can't get Calvin to wake up! He is like a log! Ha! So I had to put forward their class till 4:30 and I had to drive all the way home to sleep, 'cos I myself were sleepy too. So we all sleep in for about an hour. But Mervin wasn't doing that. After his bottle of milk, he got up and wanted to play some games in the computer. Okay, if he is alone, he is fine, no one to poke his back or argue with him. It would be otherwise if Calvin was awake. I can alway hear him yell out to mommy.

So I suppose they are in their art class enjoying themselves now.

My blog

Found that the shout box recently contains a lot of spam messages, so I've decided to remove it. So you all, if you have any comment, please comment straight on my post, I love to hear from you and love comments. I would love to know if I can be an inspiration for you all.

Have done a few cards what I wanted to post for friends. I know.. now-a-day we seldom send out cards especially with the convenient of email. But hey, cards with hand written messages is fun! I love to get them, what more if they are hand-made!

But since I wanted to send those cards to some of my friends and they may be reading my blog, so I won't post them here right now, it won't be a surprise if they already know what the card looks like. A sneak maybe.. wait for them.

Good night! And have a happy weekend!

Color Room sketch

So far, I haven't play in the Color Room yet.. this is one that I'm using their sketch instead of their color pallette. See those butterflies? (Again ;))

This is my DS learning how to make sushi during a class that I've enrolled him and my 2nd DS. He totally love it and now wanted to have sushi one a while.

Got the pinwheel idea in the Scrapbook Deals 4U forum. Fun thing to make.

Product used: left over of all scrapbook deals 4u kits, Scenic Route kit from Helen (scrap-a-little), and those Kaiser craft pearls and gems that I got from Scrap-n-Crop.

Old home layout

I really love the two Martha Steward's butterfly punches that I got recently from Studio Calico, I kept on punching them on those scrap or left over pieces of PP! So, now I have a pack of punched out butterflies ready to be used. Here is a sneak of what I've done using the butterfly punch. Can't show the whole card before the recipient get it, right? ;)

As for the layout, seeing butterflies again. Here is the old home of hubby where he spent most of her childhood time. I didn't hear lots of sweet memory about this house though, and I'm not so sure what to write in the journaling area on the right of the layout, thus I'm leaving it blank at the moment.

Edited: This page is actually using the sketch from Sketchy Thursday.

Here is a close-up of those butterflies:

And those Prima flowers:
Happy Scrapping!

Finally did one LO

Ya! After the long silent from doing any layout, here is one that I just did today using Scrapbook Deals 4U April shower kit. Love the kit, Martha always got great kit every month! Sometimes it is hard to choose from the 3 choices that she is giving.

Using Pencil Lines sketch 186 for this layout of my son "Silly You". Yes, this boy always try to be funny and try to make his friends laugh. Here he was trying on the goggles"\ that the welder was using.

The butterfly came with the kit which I've embellished with some rhine stone (with the kit too).

The only thing that is not from the kit is the journal spot which is from Scenic Route. That is the left over (negative) which I've adhere on a piece of misted and stamped paper.

If you are looking for some challenges and inspiration, Scrapbook Deals 4U is offering much of that and I always get pushed to do something with my kit for the challenges.

Happy scrapping!

Wanted but just can't

I've got a few sketches on hand that I wanted to use and a few photos for those, but I just can't get myself together to do them. Partly 'cos I am too tire at night after the boys are sleeping. Another thing is though the sketches and photos are there, but journaling part just slow me down. I wanted to leave some good memories for the boys, but every night (yes, every night), I would have got mad with them especially Cal who always seems to be the trouble maker. Whom always seems have unending homework to do. Mer is non the less different. There are times that he got too much of a tantrum I basically ignore him till he settle himself down.

I'm also thankful that when either one of them wasn't in a good state, the other was always be good and kind. Well, not always, there were times that I had to pulled over on the hard shoulder and settle them down for fighting over some toys or even just ideas.

Oh Lord, I do need lots of strength and patient, and love! Yes, lots of love from me to them.

So, no layout to share today. Goodnight you all, I needed the sleep.

Following instructions

Haha! Fun! I've done a page just by following some simple instructions from Lady Grace over at Scrapbook Nook, have a glimpse of the page here. This is what I came up with. I wish I have the kite in LG's page. It is so cute!
This is the page that I did using Scrapbook Deals 4U April shower's kit, which is filled with Quite Contrary paper line.

Everything is from the kit except the cloud and the cardstock.

So, how was your Mother's Day?
Mine is just like any other day. Normal *LOL*.

Mother's Day Cards

I didn't do a lot of cards to give a way for Mother's Day, here are those that I managed to make and sent to friends:

Those below are almost the exact replica from Kristii, of course hers is prettier, Thanks Kristii for the inspiration!

I've an announcement to make. Remember the RAK that I have for Scrap-a-little blog hop for those who follow my blog and commented in this post? Well, it turns out that the winner isn't my follower and till now she hasn't contacted me, so I'm making another draw for my new winner.
So the new winner is:

You really did use some great paper on the layout, love it!

By the way, she is the only person who commented on my post for the previous winner.
So, Congratulations Stephanie, do send me your address to fonmee@gmail.com to claim your prize.

Seriously?

My hardest work so far got two, one is to get my eldest son to eat his dinner, another one is to get him finish his daily homework from school! It was a dred for him! And such a frustrating thing for me too!

So, in this layout I'm actually questioning if he did really that serious about his homework. Seeing here is him doing his homework full heartedly, without even looking at the camera when I snap his photo. But in actual fact, he was frustrated for not being able to write faster and neater, not being able to play with the brother in the Kiddies Club. I wish homework is a bliss for him.

I made this layout for the crop challenge over at Scrapbook Deals 4U, using all Studio Calico kit, except the doily and trim are from my stash. This is a lift from Jenn's layout:
Thanks for passing by and happy weekend!!

Art class life is good

This layout I did is one of the layout done during the crop in Scrapbook Deals 4U. The challenge is to use blue, yellow, distressing and flowers. So I've been using my doily again, which I have misted with blue mist.
Yup, another boy's page with flowers, this time even the background PP also has flowers! What more with those Prima flowers! LOL! Oh, I do love that birdie! Everything here is from Scrapbook Deals 4U kit - April shower, well, except the doily.

The boys were in their art class, seriously having some art work done! Just look at them, so occupied! LOL!

Happy Thursday you all! I'm glad that tomorrow will be Friday!! Yippie!! Weekend!!

Will show another layout on Friday.

Boys will be boys

Here is another layout that get done during the Scrapbook Deals 4U crop recently:

The challenge is to use blue and yellow, rubons and someone else's words.
In the photos were my boys busy with their own puzzles. Once again, those puzzles are kept inside the toys' box now *sigh*. I wish their toys can sustained longer. Those PP are from Studio Calico kit and those rubons are from Scrapbook Deals 4U Urban kit.

Am using a sketch from Creating Keepsakes.

KristineD's Sketch Challenge during the crop

Here is a layout that is done based on Kristine D's sketch in Scrapbook Deals 4U:
Am using everything from the April's kit - April shower from Scrapbook Deals 4U. Yes, I don't care, I used the PP with flowers for my boys' page. Who set the rules anyway? If the boys don't like it, oh well.. they are most probably complaint about it when they are bigger, when those pages are already done! LOL!

Happy Tuesday!

From the crop

I told you I've done 5 layouts during the recent crop in Scrapbook Deals 4U right? Yup, here is the first one that I've done:
The challenge is to use green to represent the great outdoor. I'm using all Basic Grey Origins again for this layout. The photo was taken awhile ago when my boys still crazy over Transformers. Now those two toys are being kept inside their toys' box and have been forgotten. Well, maybe they'll remember if there is some other kid come over to the house and play them, they sure will want to grab hold of them again.

I'm using a sketch from somewhere, if not mistaken, it should be from Creating Keepsakes.

Here, a close-up of the journal tag and clip:

I'm loving all those distressing look. Now I think I'm getting better with it by tearing off some of the edges from the paper and really inking them. That remind me to get more new ink as those ink are drying up now and I need some more adhesive, oh, and a new album! Gosh, so much to spend for now.

Product used: Basic Grey Origins line.

The online crop and an announcement

How was your National Scrapbook Day gone? Have you got yourself some goodies or have done several pages joining in the online crop?

Mine was fabulous! I've had so much fun and have got all 5 pages done! Yes!!
Will share about them later. As for now, I have this layout to share with you today:

This is for the challenge over at Scrap-a-little, that is to create a new layout using (90%) Basic Grey products.
Yes, in the photo is my boys with their grandpa, during their visit to a palm farm and seeing the palm for the first time. They don't look that excited in the photo, but in actual fact, they were!

Everything in this layout are from Basic Grey Origins line, except those doilies. I'm loving those doilies from the baker shop and those stickle stickers from the same BG line is just so cute!

So, head on over to Scrap-a-little ning site and start creating layout using BG PP and products now. you have until May 31 to upload your layout to the ning site. One lucky winner will get this from Helen:
