Wheels and tadpole

I've talked about the wheels here and the tadpole here.

The journalling part for these two layout also got it from the posting that I did earlier. That's the good thing of having a blog, so I can keep track of things and use it back in my layout later.

I've been keeping this Rhonna Farrer's pattern paper (the one with stars and circles), not sure where and how to use it, till this challenge came upon and the look of the circles represents wheels, don't they? And stars? they are just nice for boy's page. Oh ya.. I got those just the edge cardstock just this week, am loving it already.

As for the Tadpole layout, I wanted to make those water bubbles that the tadpole created when they are in the pond, I wanted to try paint actually, but I've got limited color, infact, I only have white! So I ended up sewing those circles in my layout. I did the sewing part while little Cal is doing his homework.

Things I used: Wheels - PP from Rhonna Farrer, American Craft, Creative Memories; cardstock from Bazzill Basic; chipboard from Maya Road, letter stickers and ribbon from American Craft.

Tadpole: PP from Creative Imaginations, Bazzill asic; letter stickers from American craft; chipboard from Maya Road.

Gosh!

I can't believe it, in these two days, I received 2 issues of Scrapbook Trends magazines from Coconut Scrapbook, a stamp set from Making Mamories, a thank you card and a gift coupon of USD5 from Color Me Daisy and my orders of scrapbook stuff from Scrap-n-Crop! I'm just overwhelm!

I know I'm going to have fun doing all those scrapbooking pages and challenges with these things that I have. Inspiration from the magazines, new ideas that I can do with my materials and papers. It's gonna be fun!

You've got attitude

Yes, he's got attitude problem that I hope will eventually turn into good attitudes with good intention and good habits.

Jornal: Yes, you do have an attitude. You are a problem solver with an attitude problem. Normally you won't settle with your brother's choices, or any instructions from those adults at home. You won't settle with mommy's instructions. You have an experimental attitude. A challenging attitude, one that often challenge anything that anyone said. I hope all these attitudes of yours will eventually turn into good use and habits.

I've embossed two butterflies and a heart chipboard.
This is not a page that I put up in an hour time, it took me two nights to finished it off.. well.. actually a few nights, other time was just being stagnan or thinking of what to do with the page.

Fav grandson

Journal: "It is official and obvious that Mer is mom's favorite grandson. She is his mountain. He would run to her if he is in trouble and she is always on his side.
Sept 2008"

I did some doodle on the flower which is being cut out from a pattern paper. I've used gold and black pen. Did some stamping too, using Maya Road swirl stamp.

While you are here, do check out Color Me Daisy "Farewell to summer online crop" for the weekend from my blinkie on my side bar.

TFL and have a great weekend!

This is so you!

LOL, I almost write "Did many things over weekend" but in fact it was just yesterday and yesterday was a holiday over here in our state. I did two more CD mini album, one for myself and another one for my eldest sis, hope she'll put some photos in, then later I can do some embellishment for her. Did another card for my neace who is going for exam soon and another layout.

Didn't take any photo on those CD mini albums and card, but I

did take a photo of the layout, it is a pretty simple page with little embellishment. I've used Coconut Scrapbook's July and August kit, some errows and swirl stamp from Maya Road and American Craft sponge letter stickers (I just love AC letter thickers! They are so easy to use!) and Urban Lily stamp. I did some embossing on the heart chipboard that I cut out from chipboard.

Journal: Mer: After yogurt, washing up yourself and being funny with me.

Projects over the weekend

*edited*

Did one (no, actually two) layout and a card for some more online challenges. It is really a good way to get my scrapping and also get me started with a page.
This is my first try out to use sewing machine on a layout! Look at the border, first I did that by drawing a line and poking holes on it, but then later I've decided to really sew on it. I purposely made the lines not straight *grin*

This is little Mer so engross in playing withe magnetic drawing board over in my sister's place in Hong Kong. He can do that for quite a long time, maybe half an hour, without distraction!

Here is a card that have circle theme and can see bit of the inside. A very simple card to me.

Here is the 2nd layout:

which is for a jounaling challenge over in SoCalScrap, scraplifted from Scrapbooks.etc magazine.

I'm so lazy to write today. Tomorrow we'll have a holiday over in our state, so I'm actually in holiday mood now.

Snapshot

I know.. I'm using back Pamela's sketch for this layout again. It is just so easy to put on a collage of photos and it is just so happened that I've developed some in smaller prints for my son, so here it is, Cal over the years. He didn't smile a lot as a baby, normally the one who teast him laugh instead of getting him to smile. To me he is also lacking of hugs from me, since he was just over one, I was having my 2nd son and thus I seldom hug or carry him around. Poor little boy. Sometimes I wonder if he would behave better if I didn't have my 2nd son that early...

Jornal: Looking at these snapshot remind me how you've grown, how time flies, how many hugs that you need to show those smiles, how much love to get those confident and how much care for you to be strong. Somehow, I wish time stand still during these snapshot.
Jornal on: 12 Sept 2008"

I've used: Jenni Bowlin edge cardstock, Dream street PP, Rose Moka small alpha sticker, Maya Road star chipboard, Basic Grey letter sticker and another type of font die-cut (didn't get the name).

Addicted?

I think I'm getting addicted to online scrapbook challenges! I've done another two last night just for fun.
The card below is for Tamara scrapping recipe challenge:

Yes, I know it is still months away to Christmas, but I just feel like using that flower and wording from the Christmas kit of HOTP. Probably will put up for sale in my etsy shop later.

Another challenge I did was for a scrapbooking group in myspace which require to do a layout using only white, blue and green. So this is what I came up with:

I've used: American craft PP, Ribbon, chipboard letter thickers; HOTP PP; transparency from Coconut August kit and a 3D stickers.

I've a great news too, I've just found out that I've won the weekly challenge over in Color Me Daisy by doing their sketch by doing this layout!

Trying out distressing and..

Learnt how to distress from an online forum, using the back of scissors! See what I came out with:
The layout above is actually for a color combo challenge by using, blue, green and brown only. I'm not sure if I'm qualify for it, but it is fun limiting myself in using only those colours plus trying out the distressing part.

Things I used: Scenic Road liberty PP, HOTP PP, some epoxy stickers, My Mind's eye original journal tag.

Another layout is done for a sketch challenge over in Pamela's place. This was when we were in Hong Kong Internation Airport and met up with all the 5 mascot of Beijing 2008 Olympic! How lucky we were! So photo session is a must!

I've convert the Olympic rings into flowers instead at the lower corner.

I've used Jenni Bowlin pink edge cardstock, Prima flower, American Craft letter thickers, HOTP hot pink PP and citrus flowers.

Some more work from last week

I think I'm getting addicted to online challenges in making scrapbook layout. I've done a page layout sketch challenge and the card scraplift challenge agian! These is maybe the 10th challenges that I've taken so far? I lost count. It is really a way to get me scrapping and get me started with my photos, as I get to limit myself with certain rules and placement of the photos and embellishment, I get to think inside the box sometimes, rather than let loose of my creativity and bog myself down in getting no where, it is hard to decide what to do with all those stuff that I have you know?

So, here is for Color Me Daisy weekly challenge on the sketch that they provided. I've used a mixture of patterned paper from different line. American Craft, Making Memories and Hot off the press. Embellishment from Maya Road (chipboard stars), Queen & Co. green felt, and the tag from a left over from Scenic Road (if I'm not mistaken), then there is this Bucks bunny that came with a shirt that I bought from the cartoon line!

I'm leaving the journal part empty, 'cos I want to let my sis to do the writing, as these are her boys, I think she is a better person to write the journal.

(Oh.. I've to upload this fast to their gallery, else I'll miss the chance.)

Next I did, or was it before that.. hmm.. I scraplift a card for the card challenge in SoCalScrap. It was so fun using the Rose Moka PP left over from my previous layout. The color is just so bright and make it a sunny card. I didn't settle with one card, but I did two! Just fun to do so.

Here is a card scraplifted from Robin Redd's card which she show on her online cropping class over in SoCalScrap.

Here is another one, just playing with the stripe patterned paper and the blue Prima flower. My brother said these are not cards for adult, 'cos I was teasing him if he wants some cards to give to her friend (which I hope is a girl).

Well, I don't care, they looks bright and happy for me *grin*

Layout for the boys

Has fun using the Coconut Scrapbooking August kit again, have done another two layout.

Both are for some challenges online.
First one is Chatter box, notice the "h" is actually a "b"? Yup, I've chopped it off abit.
I'm also running out of "a" and "o", so replacement is definitely needed.
As for the little birdie, I covered it with the same pattern paper but the reverse side of it.
Have used some gem stones on the bird's eye and leave centers.

As for this one below, it is a mixture of all the things I've on hand, stickers, ribbon, chipboard, letter sticker (from Coconut kit too.) and left over blue swirl.

This little buy here actually went to change himself after knowing that I'm going to take photo of them. And guess what he came out with? All red!! Even the hat!! *LOL*Thanks for looking. oh ya.. both patterned paper are from Rose Moka. Love its striking colors!

Coconut Scrapbook August kit

Coconut Scrapbook is featuring Rose Moka paper in their August kit which I just receive few days ago. Did one layout the night before and did another one last night using the kit.

I just love those Rose Moka paper in the kit! They are not easy to use as the page itself are quite complete with beautiful design and striking color, very pretty indeed, but with the help of the kit which came with the right embellishment and also the challenge, I managed to build two pages. First one is from a sketch by Prima build-a-page.

These photos were taken in 2005 when my two friends came over to visit all the way from Hong Kong. I know then since university time and we have been friends ever since.

The journaling is hidden behind the centre photo

This 2nd one is using Coconut Scrapbooking August kit too, plus Maya Road swirl stamp, SEI granny kitchen coaster as embellishment (dotted with fabric paint on the flower centre) and Urban Lily mini book as a journal spot.

These photos were taken in 2005 when I just given birth to Mer and Cal having his early celebration of 2nd birthday. Hubby came back after I've delivered little Mer. This is one precious family photo that we have at that time.

Journal:
Cal 2nd birthday
Mer's birth in July
Though it was an early celebration, but
this is a special one
with Baba around
and being a big brother.

Thanks for looking.

My belated kit

I was so happy yesterday after receiving my long waited August kit from Coconut scrapbooking. Goodness, it was a month later and now I'm using my August kit in September! All thanks to the post system in Malaysia I suppose. I don't blame the mail system in US as I know they are much efficient than us over here. Anyway, enough of the beefing session. I have fun using it last night, and have created 2 layouts in one night! The proudest part is, I only used up 2 pattern paper!! But of course with some embellishement that came together in the kit, plus my forever helpful American Craft chipboard letter thicker! *grin*

These two photos are my long overdue pieces that I should be doing long ago, but I only found them a few days ago in a bag that hidden behind my table, well.. ya, I'm not a so organised person. Am glad I've found them and am glad that the kit came this time, else I would have used the kit on other photos.

There, my precious little Mer, just a few weeks old. He was even having a little smirk while sleeping!! It is a tiny baby at 2.5kg. Now he is one head shorter than little Cal.

I love doing embossing now even since I got my heating tool. So I did some embossing on the lace cardstock. I've used some bling on the owl body too. As I've run out of "S", I replace it with a "5" instead. A very simple, unclutter layout.

Really, I've just used up 2 pattern papper for these two layout, plus a bit of the lace cardstock, I only used 4 raws of the lace cardstock, I've trim them out from those underneath the photo to make up for the 2nd layout *grin* (Stingy me huh?)

Hope to do more with the Rose Moka paper.

Oh, I've another happy news, I've won 2 scrapbook magazine from an online challenge!! This is the layout that I've won: Spec: silly look

Another CD minibook and LO

Yes, been back and started to craft. Since I still have photos from the Nexus visit we had in June, so I thought I should be doing something about it and I wanted to have a gift for my sister, so I did a CD minibook for her. Leaving some blank space for her journaling.

Back and front of the CD:

Inner pages with journal spot:

Fanned out pages. I basically used all swirl doodling from the HOTP template with a silver pen.

The back pages. Seen here is the back of the left over felt from Queen & Co.

I managed to get the kids to bed early last night and have some time for myself for TV and scrapbooking!! Yay!! I hope I can have some more time like this tonight.
I've done a LO on the 3 of us, me and my two boys, photo taken in August.
I've used Dream Street Papers, tags, ribbon and felt from HOTP Personal Shopper monthly kit, American craft vinyl letter thicker and letter stickers got from a friend in Australia.
This Dream Street PP has been in my box since last year! This are the first few PP that I bought, wasn't sure what to do with them at first, till I show a sketch from Scrapbook.etc. Am glad I've bought them.
